[Advisor] Professor Emeritus Kentaro Shimizu of the University of Tokyo Joins as an Advisor
March 5, 2025
We are pleased to announce that Kentaro Shimizu, Professor Emeritus at the University of Tokyo, who has had a distinguished career in the field of bioinformatics—including MD simulations and protein 3D structure prediction—has been appointed as an advisor.
Kentaro Shimizu (しみず・けんたろう)
Born in 1938. Professor Emeritus at the University of Tokyo. After contributing to the development of parametron computers in Eiichi Goto’s laboratory, he shifted his primary focus to bioinformatics in the early 1980s. He is recognized as a pioneer in protein 3D structure prediction using machine learning, and his studies on protein folding and ligand binding through molecular dynamics simulations have greatly influenced drug discovery and our understanding of biology.
